New Mercedes B-Class (2012) launch campaign starts
Officially, the 2012 Mercedes B-Class arrived at the Frankfurt Motor Show back in September. Which meant we got plenty of detail and lots of photos. The details, as you would expect from Mercedes, were pretty comprehensive and the photos were certainly plentiful – more than 100 of them – if a little ‘cold’.
As car manufacturers start to look with fresh eyes at smaller, cheaper cars, reports from Germany confirm that Mercedes is close to committing to the SLA, a small Roadster to be based on the next generation A-Class platform. The original SLA concept was shown at Detroit in 2000, and aimed to slot in beneath the SLK. But at that time Mercedes didn’t have a suitable platform on which to base the car, and the project was shelved.
A larger standard engine and more seating capacity are the big changes for the 2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor pickup. For starters, all 2011 Raptors will come standard with a 6.2-liter V8, rated at 411 hp and 434 lb-ft of torque. The 6.2-liter engine was an option on the 2010 Raptor, while a 320-ho 5.4-liter V8 was the base engine.
